Turning an outdated education site into a connected course platform.
Majdnem Híres Rocksuli's outdated, non-responsive site became a dynamic, easy-to-edit WordPress platform that helps visitors explore its courses.
01 · Starting point
The challenge
The old site was not responsive, offered no proper mobile experience and had outdated cookie handling. Its visual design reflected an earlier version of the brand.
A bigger UX issue was how hard it was to explore the courses. Information appeared in long, poorly structured text, and courses, instructors, alumni and events did not form a connected content system. The site gave visitors little reason to browse further or enrol.
Approach
I approached the project through information architecture and UI design. Upcoming courses needed prominence on the homepage, while each course page needed to show its instructors.
I kept the yellow-and-black identity and logo, but introduced new typography, high-contrast layouts, full-screen elements, short text blocks and subtle motion. Black-and-white photos become colourful on hover, reinforcing the site's urban music character.
02 · Design decision
Courses became the focus
Problem
The old site offered no clear path to a suitable course, and its different types of content rarely supported one another.
Decision
I made courses the main entry points, supported by related instructor, alumni and event content.
Solution
Course pages show their instructors, and a homepage block highlights upcoming courses. The client can choose which courses receive this status in the admin area.

03 · Design decision
A dynamic digital system from the existing identity
Problem
The yellow-and-black identity and logo were established, but the old site's visual system no longer reflected Rocksuli's present character.
Decision
I chose new typography and built the layout around large full-screen elements, strong contrasts and short, clearly separated text.
Solution
Black-and-white photos turn colourful on hover, while small animations add movement without distracting from the content. I also created a design system.

04 · Folyamat
An editable site built from distinct content types
I built the backend so the team can update dynamic content without developer help.
- 1
Képzések
Courses have separate editing screens, and the team can choose which appear prominently on the homepage.

- 2
Oktatók
Instructors can be edited separately and shown on related course pages.

- 3
Rendezvények
Events can be added as a separate content type and displayed in date order.
- 4
Alumni és GYIK
Alumni profiles and FAQs are also edited separately.
05 · Design decision
An admin area designed for its editors
Problem
The site can work long term only if editors can update content independently and safely.
Decision
I built custom content types with ACF fields so editors fill in clearly named fields instead of changing layouts.
Solution
I provided a detailed user guide with a table of contents, screenshots and step-by-step editing instructions.

06 · Design decision
WordPress stayed, with a new structure
Problem
At the start, we considered whether WordPress was the right base for a site serving both sales and communication goals.
Decision
The brief did not require a custom backend. WordPress's familiar admin area, extensibility and ACF-based content model suited the project.
Solution
The result is a responsive WordPress site with technical SEO foundations, redirects, security and performance settings, and analytics integration.

Result
Visitors can now spot upcoming courses quickly and see each programme alongside its instructors. Long text passages became shorter, distinct sections.
Courses, events, instructors, alumni and FAQs are editable as separate ACF-based content types. The client can choose which upcoming courses appear on the homepage. Handover included a detailed user guide with a table of contents.
